ArcGIS GeoPlanner allows you to share and save layers, items, and web maps.
Share common operational layers and basemaps
Sharing common operational layers is done by adding the data to the project template web map. The operational data and basemap contained in a project template web map are automatically visible to all other project team members. When a user opens a project, a web map is automatically created for this user by the app, and this web map is stored in the user's My Content tab on the contents page in their ArcGIS organization. All layers included in the project template web map are automatically added to this user web map.
The project owner can use this capability to define data commonly used by project team members so that individual team members have a common set of data to start with.
Share a data layer
You can share a data layer with people inside and outside of your ArcGIS organization. There are several sharing levels available to you:
- My Project—The data layer is shared in your project.
- My Content—The data layer is shared with your ArcGIS organizational account.
- My Organization—The data layer is shared with all members of your ArcGIS organization.
- Public—People outside of your ArcGIS organization have access to the data layer.
You can configure the sharing level for your data layer in the data layer's properties through the Contents pane.
Save a Weighted Raster Overlay (WRO) layer
You can save a WRO layer from GeoPlanner in two ways: download the layer as a .tiff, or saving it as an image service to your organization.
Download a WRO layer
Complete the following steps to download a WRO layer as a .tiff file.
- Open a project in GeoPlanner.
- In the Contents pane, click the Options button
next to the WRO layer you want to download. - Click Export Model.
The Export Model modal appears.
- Click Download as GeoTIFF file.
- Click Download as GeoTIFF file.
A .tiff file containing your WRO at the current map extent is saved to your computer. You can open this file in ArcGIS Pro.
Save a WRO layer as an image service to your ArcGIS organization
Complete the following steps to save your WRO layer as an image service to your ArcGIS organization.
- In the Contents pane, click the Options button next to the WRO layer you want to save.
- Click Export Model.
The Export Model modal appears.
- Click Export to a new image layer.
- Type a name for the new image service in the Result layer name text box.
- Optionally, check the check box next to Use current map extent to limit the extent of the WRO to save as a service.
- Click Run.
An image service derived from your WRO layer is saved to your ArcGIS organization. The image service is added as a layer to the open scenario in GeoPlanner.
Note:
This process can take some time to finish depending on the current extent of your WRO layer.
Share an analysis layer, web map, web scene, exported data, or document
Data items resulting from any of the app functions are automatically shared to the project group. These items can be discovered by all team members. Such items include the following:
- Analysis layers resulting from any of the analysis processes
- Exported items resulting from the Export function
- Any data items uploaded using the Upload function
- Web maps and web scenes resulting from the Export function
